The 2020 Mazda3 comes with several different packages, as opposed to trim levels. It’s only a matter of semantics, but it’s important to get the terminology right. All of the available packages come with a SKYACTIV®-G 186-horsepower, 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with variable valve timing. That engine is paired with a SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with sport mode as well as SKYACTIV VEHICLE DYNAMICS with G-Vectoring Control Plus. New in 2019 and back for 2020 is the available predictive i-ACTIV AWD® drivetrain. This innovative system automatically activates all-wheel drive whenever it detects that it is necessary. As for its fuel economy, the 2020 Mazda3 averages up to 35 highway mpg and 26 city mpg.
