2020 Mazda CX-30 Prescott AZ

2020 Mazda CX-30 Exterior Driver Side Front Profile

For the 2020 model year, Mazda introduced a brand-new model – its first since introducing the CX-3 back in 2016. Now, the brand introduces a slightly larger crossover option to slot between that and the larger CX-5. The Mazda CX-30 is available as of January 2020 in Prescott AZ, offering another sleek and sophisticated option in the ever-growing subcompact crossover segment.

The vehicle made its debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and then we got an even better look at it during the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show much later in the year. When discussing the name, an executive explained that the change was to highlight the fact that the CX-30 is the first of the CX vehicles to adopt the brand’s new Kodo design philosophy and also because it offers several features not yet available on other CX models. It remains to be seen whether other models will follow suit down the road.

Specs & Features of the 2020 CX-30

But its name is far from the most exciting aspect of the new vehicle. It’s sleek and sophisticated design is very clearly a Mazda, but the new Kodo style makes it look fresh and modern. When designing the vehicle, the brand combined two very different concepts, creating a unique profile that is reminiscent of both a coupe and an SUV. Even its incredible design might take a backseat in some people’s opinion to some of the new features available in the model, or perhaps to its powertrain, which offers a class-leading standard horsepower of 186 HP.

Speaking of those new features, one of the most appealing is the brand’s new off-road traction assist. If a driver decides to take their CX-30 onto uneven terrain, this new system will assist by automatically adjusting certain outputs for optimized performance in those situations. Perhaps even more excitingly, it will be the introductory model for Mazda Connected Services, coming standard across all CX-30 trims. It works in conjunction with the MyMazda app, allowing drivers to perform a number of functions via smartphone, including remote lock or start and much more.
