If you would like to experience the new turbo engine option, you will have to check out the Grand Touring Reserve or Signature trims. These models are the only ones that feature a turbocharged motor. Under these hoods, you will find a 250-horsepower SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine with Dynamic Pressure Turbo. This engine produces 310 pounds-foot of torque which contributes to the vehicle’s maximum towing capacity of 2,000 lbs.
2019 Mazda CX-5 base engine
If you don’t go for the more expensive upper trim levels, you will still get an impressive, capable engine. Drivers of the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring models all get a 187-horsepower SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine with Cylinder Deactivation. Regardless of the engine you have, it will be paired with a SKYACTIV®-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift and Sport Mode.
