Since the 2019 Mazda6 is a carryover model from last year, there really aren’t any notable changes, and that includes what’s under the hood. The two lowest trims, the Sport and Touring, come with a 187-horsepower, SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder with VVT and Cylinder Deactivation. Meanwhile, the Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve, and Signature models all come with a 250-horsepower SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter Dynamic Pressure Turbo DOHC 16-valve I-4 with VVT. This turbocharged engine option was made available for the first time in 2018, and it continues to impress motorists in 2019.
